Rest Day Randomness

Today was our rest day, which lived up to its name. I didn't fall asleep again until 3am so woke up at 10:30 in the morning. I got up and ate some breakfast and was starting to fall back to sleep on the couch. So I thought I would just lay back down for a few minutes and I woke up at 2:30 in the afternoon. Yikes! I got up and we walked down to the park but it was too wet to enjoy anything.

When we returned I saw a cute little bird taking a bath in the rain gutter. Sorry it wasn't in focus, he wouldn't stop moving and I was taking the pic through the windshield.

 So we got ready and drove to the other side of town to a popular Fish and Chips place that offers gluten free fish and chips on Sundays and Mondays. Following the address I put into the SatNav (GPS) we arrived at our destination in a residental street?? Talk about disappointing. The address said 47 Station Road, Woburn Sands, Milton Keynes. The house in front of me was 47 Station Road, Milton Keynes. I saw a sign that said Woburn sands was 1.5 miles down the road. So I put 47 Station Road, Woburn Sands and what do you know, the GPS had that exact address 1.5 miles away. Are they messing with me on purpose? Anyway, we found it, so it better be good!

And it was the best fish and chips we have ever had! There was no fishy taste just soft but firm(if possible), flaky cod in a perfectly crunchy crust. Things we have noticed about food here is they don't seem to add salt to everything like they do in the states, there is no high fructose corn syrup in sodas or catsup, and they don't serve ice in their drinks. We will be sure to go back next Sunday before we leave.

Apparently in Woburn Sands, if you want to park on the side of the road, feel free to do so regardless of room. Apparently the suicide lane is for passing parked cars.

And if you have a female car, it is important to add some eyelashes!

But I would be lying if they didn't remind me of the movie The Others though, where doors must be locked with keys like this. As long as my daughter doesn't turn around and say, "Are you mad, I am your daughter?" I think I will be okay.
