So we gathered up our weeks worth of clothes, and discovered we can only wash about 5-6 articles of clothing at a time due to its size. Once more, you would think being a combo washer/dryer it would be more efficient but it seems the only thing efficient about it is its use of water. You see, to wash takes almost 2 hours and to dry takes 2 hours. This was going to be a long laundry day. So we thought we would kill some time, so we went and got some hot cocoa.
This is the "Mossimo" size and the two handles on the mug were necessary.
Then we took Ally rock climbing because she had been begging to do since she saw it at a store last Friday. She doesn't do well at heights and doesn't have the strongest hands or legs but we thought we would let her give it another try. Her last attempt was a couple years ago and she went up 5 feet and she was done. So at 8 Pounds or $12, she better do a little better. She was determined to climb the whole 43 feet and was just 3-4 feet shy before slipping and giving up. We were still proud of her though and it built a little fire under her, wanting to try it again soon.
Alas, we go back home and our first load of laundry was washed, but not yet dried. So we had a little lunch and got caught up on some reading when finally our first 6 articles of clothing were washed and dried. Good thing we packed light and have had no need for our shorts and t-shirts! Ally wanted me to share her makeshift skirt she made while her pants were in the second batch.
Tomorrow is one of our long days in London so I may call on my friends again to ensure a good nights sleep =)
4 hours for a tiny load?!?! That's ridiculous! Question for the gf queen...I want to make peanut butter cookies with a yummy recipe I have. What's a good flour substitute?
ReplyDeleteThe best substitute is Pamela's baking/pancake mix, you can get it at Raleys or whole foods. You can get a smaller bag for about $7. It works great as a direct substitute. If you want to make your own substitute it would be 1/2 cup rice flour, 1/4 cup tapioca flour/starch, and 1/4 cup potato starch (not flour). But personally we just use Pamela's most the time.
