6 Days until Take-off!

We have spent the last couple days packing and cleaning, and have discovered the most difficult part about trading houses with another family. It is almost impossible to keep the house spotless clean while packing and still living in it! Especially since we are trying to save money for the trip by not eating out, it just seems like neverending cleaning. On the plus side, we made delicious pulled pork on top of a sweet cornbread pancake and a side of asparagus for dinner. Then I made some coconut macaroons for dessert. I had bribed Eric with the macaroons that if he cleaned up my dinner mess I would make dessert. It worked nicely!

We are doing a really good job with the packing. So far we have each fit all our clothes into our own smaller backpaking backpacks. This will allow us to easily carry our luggage through out all the airports, train stations, buses, taxis, boats, and cars. We will only have one large bag to check, and a camera bag and laptop bag. In our minds we will feel stealthy but I am sure we will still look like tourists. I might wear socks with my sandals and my cropped pants with fanny pack to seal the deal =)

Tomorrow is my last day off before we leave so I have to make sure I get as much done as possible, since I will be worthless after work Fri-Monday. I hate working 4 days in a row since they are 12 hour shifts but I am hoping it will be worth it knowing I have 30 days off afterwards. Eric has been so awesome getting everything ready and cleaned up so I know he will work hard to keep the house together until we leave. We just may need to do some of our "cooking" at Chipotle over the next several days.

We get our laptop back from being fixed tomorrow so I am hoping I can start adding some pictures to the blog soon, keep checking back!! Thanks for reading!
