Beach Day in Pornichet

Tuesday we had a day at the beach. Gaëlle's best friend Albane and her family are also here for the week and all the girls hit it off great. So we walked down to their beach for the day. Started off on making a sand castle that resembled Mont St. Michel.

Learning to sail is very popular here and kids learn to do it young. Albane's sister and cousin were out sailing today (ages about 12-14). Their mom explained that they pay about $175US for the week to get 2.5 hours of sail time x 5 days. They have an area set off from swimmers for the sailors and kite surfers.
The girls were having fun doing what girls do: perfecting their tans, chatting, practicing their cartwheels.
They got photobombed by Albane's Grandpére Marcel.

Eric enjoyed a Badonk tournament with all the French men.

It was a great day! The water was nice and warm but there was also an abundance of algae/kelp today so we pretty much just played in the sand. We had a nice dinner and then watched one of our favorite movies Midnight in Paris together.
